When it comes to Microsoft in fueling its platform with unique titles and genres, strategy/simulation is no stranger to Xbox. In 2022, Microsoft made a pledge to do this with Age of Empire II receiving an Xbox port coming in early 2023. Not to mention 2021 the year prior with the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox Series X|S as well.
As for what this will bring moving forward, Microsoft is partnering with Paradox Interactive to further its stretch for similar titles later on. Already, Cities: Skylines – Remastered arrived to Xbox Game Pass in early February. And it is expected with the Xbox firm also backing the publisher for its Paradox Announcement Show this week will only bring more additions to the service.
From the presentation held on Monday, it reveals that two more titles are arriving to the service. In that, Cities: Skylines II was announced. While the listing is up on Steam now, the game in the reveal trailer shares it is coming to Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, a new IP ‘The Lamplight League’ was also revealed at the show as well and like before with the city simulator will also be releasing on Xbox Game Pass too.
“Create and manage your own city without restrictions. Offering a deep simulation and a living economy, Cities: Skylines II will challenge your decision-making skills and allow you to build the cities of your dreams. Get ready for a new epic scale in the most realistic city builder – ever,” Cities: Skylines II description reads.
The Lamplight League overview reads as: “An original game created by Seattle-based Harebrained Schemes, featuring globetrotting pulp adventure and strategic turn-based combat set in an alternate, stylish 1930s.” The announcement post also reiterates on CrusaderKings III, which is already on Xbox Game Pass, as a new PC expansion ‘Tours and Tournaments’ is coming.
