Activision and Sledgehammer Games have been promoting Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer with the return of classic maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). There will be 16 core 6v6 maps to play on at launch that are all from the Infinity Ward Modern Warfare game, but there will be more familiar maps coming to the game shortly after launch.
Sledgehammer Games confirmed that some Modern Warfare II (2022) maps will Carry Forward into Modern Warfare III after the game’s launch. The maps joining 2023’s Modern Warfare from the previous game will be Farm 18, Mercado, and Shoot House and will be available via a dedicated playlist. They also confirm more maps from 2022’s Call of Duty will be joining the game throughout Live Seasons.
New modes that are featured in Modern Warfare III will not be used on these MWII maps and they claim these maps are graphically identical to how they were in MWII.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launches November 10 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
