When it comes to the many video game franchises that Microsoft owns, Gears of War has been quiet since the release of Gears 5 in 2019. The Coalition is obviously developing something right now and possibly working on multiple projects.

According to @Middleagegamegy on X (formerly Twitter), The Coalition is internally testing The Gears Collection. He claims the build is finished and the game testers at the studio are playing it now. Obviously, The Gears Collection would include the early games in the series, but that remains to be seen.

This comes from the Xbox Infinite Podcast. You can see the clip posted by IdleSloth below:

Middleagegamegy also claims that The Coalition’s new IP is still being worked on despite the studio developing what’s next in the Gears universe. A reliable insider a few months ago shared that Gears 6 is far along in development and could be open world.

As always take rumors like these with a grain of salt.

In 2015 the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was released for Xbox One which was a remaster of the original installment to the series. This rumored collection could likely feature the first three, but nothing has been confirmed.
