For Disney, its recent string of games and projects have been predominantly carried by the Lucasfilm Games banner. In that, we’ve seen announcements for projects including Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, Star Wars Eclipse, and Star Wars Outlaws. Even Sea of Thieves is part of this initiative with its recent ‘The Legend of Monkey Island’ updates that came last year.
There’s also direct Disney releases, such as Disney Illusion Island. In our review, we wrote: “Disney Illusion Island is a charming, family friendly Metroidvania platformer that captures the spirit of classic Disney cartoons whilst delivering a highly accessible experience that’s fun for all. If you can look past its somewhat high asking price and lack of combat, then you’ll surely enjoy a whimsical world filled with gorgeous artwork, a magical soundtrack, and loveable characters.”
At the latest Nintendo Partner Direct, Disney revealed remake ‘Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed’ for Nintendo Switch coming later in 2024. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“Join Mickey Mouse on a colorful adventure as he traverses Wasteland, a world inspired by Disney classic stories. Play the 2010 classic along with a variety of upgrades in this enhanced remake of the action-adventure 3D platformer originally released on the Wii console. Along with updated graphics and other improvements, Mickey Mouse’s abilities have been improved with a whole new set of skills and more.”
