Tekken 8, released on January 26, 2024, is getting its first playable DLC fighter since then. Eddy Gordo has officially joined the game’s roster as of April 5, 2024. Eddy’s debut has expanded the 32-character launch roster, which includes many fan favorites, the surprise return of Jun Kazama, and three all-new additions with Azucena, Victor Chevalier, and Reina.
Those who purchased the Tekken 8 Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack will already have access to Eddy Gordo. He is just the first character of the Season Pass that will include 3 other characters.
Eddy Gordo, known as the “Indomitable Flash,” continues his journey of redemption in TEKKEN 8. As a skilled capoeira user, Eddy puts himself on a grueling training regimen and hones his moves to new levels of proficiency to exact his revenge against Kazuya Mishima.
Tekken 8 fires on all cylinders, honoring its legacy while also pushing the franchise forward. In our review, we scored the Bandai Namco fighting game a 9 out of 10.
In its first month of release, Tekken 8 sold over 2 million copies across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 with 1 million of those units sold in the first day alone. Regardless of the early success, it still has a lot of units to sell in order to reach Tekken 7 which holds the record across the Tekken franchise of 11.8 million copies sold worldwide.
The Tekken World Tour 2024 kicks off on April 13 at EVO Japan and will feature Tekken 8 as the main game.
