It is rumored that the Xbox Showcase this Summer will take place on June 9, 2024, with plenty of games to be announced including a new Gears of War. At this point it seems more than likely we will see a Gears 6 tease, based on all of the reports from insiders.
The voice actor of JD from Gears of War, Liam McIntyre responded to a fan on X (Twitter) saying “I have no idea. I think Gears of War tells us all in June”. The post he is responding to is when someone asks about what is happening with JD and asks if his death from Gears of War 5 is canon

The Xbox Showcase for this June has not been confirmed yet by Microsoft but all signs point to it being Sunday, June 9, 2024, and it will not only feature Gears 6, but the new Call of Duty as well. Other reports regarding Gears 6 mention that it could be an open-world game and it had already been far along in development.
Gears of War 5 launched in 2019 and it will be five years this Fall that we haven’t received a new mainline Gears title.
