Right now it is no secret how much of a phenomenon Fallout has become in just a few short months. After the airing of the series on Amazon Prime Video, a second season has already been greenlit with work still in the early stage of pre-production. What’s more, Bethesda has addresses that there are certainly new games in the work for the franchise concerning Fallout.

Already, we see a continuing amount of support to release for Fallout 76 periodically. This month, it is no different when the developer introduced the first map expansion to the game with Skyline Valley. Additionally, Todd Howard inclines to share that more updates appear to be solidified for Fallout 76 with no sign of stopping for the 2018 title.

But, he says the team is not rushing into the next game while the series is still hot on the burner. During the same interview, Howard explains that although the original Fallout games from Interplay Inc. are crucial to the universe, modernizing those titles are not a priority. You can watch the segment in the video below:

“Our main priority for us is to make sure they’re available and you can still play them. So on the PC: obviously they’re there for people to get and play. And making sure that they run okay. As far as sorta beyond that, we’ve talked about it, but our priorities in terms of, ‘hey let’s go do dev work and make sure certain things work – they haven’t been in those areas.

“So again, priority is ‘hey and people load it up and play it?’ And I do think- we do want it to load up and run well. The rest of it- I can argue- I think so of the charm of games from that era in the original Fallouts is a little bit of that age. I would never want to sort of y’know paste over that with ‘well we changed out this work so it’s more modern’”. In the past, Bethesda did issue the original releases to all users – even on console – for free when initial reception for Fallout 76 arrives.

But for native console ports could jeopardize the integrity of the experience, Howard argues. “Anything is possible, but y’know that is going to be a longer dev throw you sort of have to ask yourself ‘is that where we’re going to put our time right now?’ or ‘is it best played the way it is on a PC’ and I think right now, yeah to me the best way to play it is on a PC – mouse & keyboard – the way it was.”

Would you have hoped the original Fallouts would release on console?
