The Care Bears are on a mission to save their home world from Bluster’s untamable giant Bad Seed! And they need our help to collect enough caring energy through a variety of colorful and varied levels. Care Bears: To The Rescue has arrived on PlayStation and Xbox for the first time in a heartwarming adventure game.
The newest Care Bears game features a wide array of challenges that await such as avoiding obstacles, helping friends, and taking down foes with the Care Plane and it has collectibles to search for. This game can be played single-player or with friends with up to four players supported locally.

In Care Bears: To The Rescue, there are multiple worlds that feature different themes and have their own style of enemies and obstacles. Each world only has about a handful of levels to play through including the final bosses of each one.
There are unique character abilities and you can choose to play Funshine Bear, Share Bear, Cheer Bear, Good Luck Bear, and Grumpy Bear. When you first start playing this game there are some locked characters but by collecting stickers and completing worlds you’ll unlock everyone in no time.

Gameplay Serves No Challenges
Care Bears: To The Rescue is clearly intended for younger gamers, and the gameplay is not overly challenging. There are some areas where you may grow frustrated based on how enemies are placed and that’s purposeful.
There is definitely a repetitiveness in the objectives, particularly in using abilities to progress through levels and in the way enemies must be defeated to clear paths. While there are a lot of the same things happening, Care Bears: To The Rescue is a great example of a beginner platformer.
At the end of each world, you’ll run into boss fights and afterward, there are fun mini-game.

Simple Art Style
Care Bears: To The Rescue’s art style isn’t out of this world nor is it a bad thing. It’s a very simple art style that is suitable for its audience. The character’s art is what you expect from Care Bears and the only aspect you could critique could be the way enemies or some environments look.
The audio in the game needs improvement. The sound effects and music used throughout the levels can become repetitive as you progress further into the game. This is an aspect where the game falls short.
There is some dialogue in Care Bears: To The Rescue that goes along with the story. No voice acting, just text dialogue from each character. What can’t be forgotten is the simple story the game has to take down the giant and save the world.

Verdict
Care Bears: To The Rescue is a fun platformer that is great for its audience and great for beginners in the genre. It’s an average game that showcases the Care Bear universe well and for its price, you can’t complain with the content you receive.
There is some replayability, but it won’t take you long to 100% the game. It’s more fun when you have more people to play with compared to playing solo.
