In today’s panel at Comic-Con, Sea Of Thieves art Director Ryan Stevenson revealed that Rare’s newest game will pay respects to the studio’s older and beloved games. One way this will be accomplished is through the use of unique figureheads that players can use on theirships.
One of the figureheads showed at Comic-Con was the pirate version of Joanna Dark from the Perfect Dark series. Another one was the bear holding a crest that displayed a bird – a reference to Banjo-Kazooie titles.
Ryan Stevenson has said the game truly captures Rare’s style of work saying “We wanted to reimagine what a Rare game is today with all of our knowledge and embracing all the technology available to us”
If you have been living under a rock, Sea Of Thieves is coming next year on Xbox One and PC through Xbox Play Anywhere program.
