Rockstar Games has been known to take its time when it comes to releasing any of its games. We have seen Red Dead Redemption II get delayed when it was announced, GTA 6 has been delayed until next year, and now it seems the developer has been working on a GTA IV port for modern gen consoles.
According to known leaker regarding Rockstar titles, Tez2, indicated on a forum that Rockstar Games has been working on the GTA IV port for over a year. “We may end up seeing it drop later this year, and it’s one more reason, in addition to existing reasons, the LCPP mod was taken down,” the leaker said.
While the main focus is on GTA 6 and getting that ready for release, there are other small projects apparently happening at Rockstar. A GTA IV port wouldn’t be a surprise since we saw Red Dead Redemption come to PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
The leaker did not indicate which consoles would receive the GTA IV port. But it would be interesting to see if it would come to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Grand Theft Auto IV was originally released on April 29, 2008 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
Would you play GTA 4 again?
