This year, Nintendo is finally releasing the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on Switch and Switch 2. The game was first announced at E3 2017 eight years ago, and since then, we have seen Metroid Dread and Metroid Prime Remastered release on the Switch. Today, it was revealed Nintendo renewed a couple of trademarks for two Metroid Prime games.

Nintendo renewed the trademarks for Metroid Prime Hunters and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. This was first spotted by Genki_JPN on X (Twitter) which was found on chizai-watch.com.

This could mean nothing at all, but it’s interesting they renewed the trademarks for these games specifically. We haven’t seen anything on Metroid Prime 2 yet. Metroid Prime Hunters was initially released on March 20, 2006, for Nintendo DS and later came to the Wii U.

Metroid Prime 3 was released on August 27, 2007, for the Nintendo Wii. The only way right now for this game to also come to the Switch platform would be some sort of a remaster.

Nintendo has not announced yet if Metroid Prime 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube library.
