The commitment that PlayStation holds to live-service continues to be a surprise. Recently, Sony shared that efforts for this new market are to presume internally in its PlayStation division. This follows the devastating response for Concord in fall 2024 which resulted in the game shuttering within two weeks and the studio closing in the weeks that followed. But, there are still other efforts on the way.
One in Bungie’s Marathon which was delayed into 2026 following the criticism online from its proper reveal earlier this year. Another is Haven Studios’ Fairgame$. Revealed in 2023, the co-op shooter was teased with talent such as Jade Raymond at the helm. And although the game was reportedly testing positively internally, Raymond did end up leaving her venture under PlayStation this spring.
And months following her exit, another major figurehead at Haven Studios has also moved on. Daniel Drapeau, originally the game director for Fairgame$ at Haven Studios, has announced he is no longer at the developer as he takes on a new role. In a post on LinkedIn, Drapeau revealed that he will now be in the position of a creative director at Warner Bros. Montreal.
“As of this week, I joined WB Games Montreal Inc. as Creative Director. I can’t wait to start this wonderful adventure with all the great people here at the studio,” Drapeau wrote in the post. There still remains some uncertainty towards what he will handle at the new developer. Recent reports point towards the team faced with many odds following the shift in leadership expectations earlier in 2025.
As for PlayStation, this could be a massive blow to one of its efforts for live-service. However, there are still other projects brewing internally. For instance, a fragment of Bungie did break off to form ‘TeamLFG’ earlier in 2025 with emphasis to develop live-service projects. You can read the full report by heading here.
