Needolin is an Ancestral Art in Hollow Knight Silksong that can unlock the locked doors in Pharloom. This ability is crucial to obtain, as most of the gates in the game are locked. Using Needolin during your journey can make your progression quick. Finding and beating the Widow in Bellhart is required to unlock this ability.
Get inside the Bellhart after gaining Cling Grip ability and returning to Shellwood. Progressing to Act 2 will also require you to have Needolin. What is Needolin Skill in Hollow Knight: Silksong
The Needolin is the 5th and final Traversal item in Act 1 of Hollow Knight Silksong. It is required to open up various Weaver Doors throughout Pharloom. Defeating the Widow in Bellhart is essential to unlock this ability. You will get inside a short platforming section after getting your hands on the Needolin.
Make sure you have already unlocked Cling Grip before encountering Widow. Press D on PC, Triangle on PlayStation, Y on Xbox, and X on Switch to use this ability. Hold the designated button to use this ability and wait for the action.
You will start playing a song while holding the button, and your Silk will be consumed. We recommend you use this ability to unlock circular gates on the map, summon Bell Beast at the Bellway, and unlock interaction with specific NPCs. Open the gates by playing the tune next to the gates, like in Bone Bottom or Far Fields. Weavenest Atla and Weavenest Cindril are the two distinct rooms in Moss Grotto and Far Fields, respectively.
How To Unlock Needolin
You will start at the bench near the Sister Splinter boss fight. From there, you can either ride the elevator to the east up, or you can wall jump our way up instead. However, it’s managed, move through the northeast passage, then all the way east in the next chamber. There will be a new area you can access by wall jumping up to piles of bells, then smacking our way through them. Now, you need to move down and to the east, avoiding or otherwise dealing with various new enemy types.
Move to the west and down, and between two winged forms, you should find a hidden wall that can be broken through. Just beyond it is a hole; jump over that for now and move further west, through another hidden wall. There is a side quest item in this area, but for our purposes, it is a shortcut back towards your last bench that you need to open up. You can do this by breaking some vines at the west end of the chamber.
Defeat the Widow Boss
First, you should fill up your health by resting on a bench. Return to the last chamber and move east back through it. Dropping down a couple of holes and moving east will bring us to the next major boss fight, the Widow. This boss is definitely up there with the likes of Moorwing in terms of difficulty.
Not all of her attacks deal double damage, but enough of them do. There is also quite a bit going on at any given time, so this fight follows a “death by a thousand cuts” pattern. To make matters worse, just when you think you’ve won, you’re actually just starting phase two.
Phase two is a lot more frantic at first, but Widow’s attack pattern is actually a lot more predictable. She will drop vertical or diagonal bells a few times, then perform a flurry attack. Once you get dialed into her rhythm, phase two becomes a lot easier.
Unlocking Needolin
Once you’ve finally defeated Widow, you plunge your needle and bind to unlock the Needolin ability. You will then need to make your way through a short platforming section to exit a dream sequence of sorts. After waking up, you can hit the nearby lever to unlock a bench. Doing so will free the Bellhart town from the curse that kept them incapacitated.
