Hollow Knight: Silksong offers multiple endings in Act 2, depending on your actions. Defeat Grandmother Silk at the end of Act 2 and bind her to get the Weaver Queen (Normal Ending). Snared Silk, Twisted Child, Sister of the Void, and Passing of the Age are the other endings in Silksong and require you to complete certain objectives to get each ending. Find Mister Mushroom in all seven locations across Pharloom after finishing the Sister of the Void ending to get the Passing of the Age ending.
The Twisted Child (cursed) ending is missable if you progress past certain story points without getting Twisted Bud. Become “cursed” by obtaining the Twisted Bud, giving it to Greyroot in Shellwood via the Rite of Rebirth quest, and defeating Grandmother Silk in Act 2 to get the Twisted Child ending. In this guide, we’ll discuss how to get all endings in Hollow Knight Silksong, including some useful tips and tricks.
1. Weaver Queen Ending
Requirement: Finish the game by defeating the Grand Mother Silk.
You start with the normal ending, which is the Weaver Queen’s parrot. This is beating the game without doing anything special, which is beating the Great Mother Silk at the end of Act 2, who is the final boss that the game presents to you the first time. Get to the Citadel and do everything you have to do, which is the normal path the game will take you. At the top, you’re going to defeat the boss.
Once you beat the boss, press the button that tells you to link. You link, and you will get the ending. You will return to the last bench that you rested at when you load your save in the future. This will take you to a state where the boss is alive, allowing you to get access to the other endings. You can continue playing the game and progress through unlocking Act 3.
2. Twisted Child
Let’s dive into the ending that gives you the Twisted Girl achievement. I strongly advise you to have already reached the end of the game, and that you’re ready to go to the Great Mother Silk calmly. You need a curse to get this ending. If you want to make it easier, go find Mask Fragments to have more health against enemies. Let’s go to Coraza Forest to locate the NPC over there.
First, you have to do the Pollip mission, the Pollip Rite. In the Armor Forest, there will be an NPC that gives this quest. You have to get six Pollip in this Coraza. They are purple things that hit; they release an object.
Once you have completed this mission, you will do another mission later. Look for the Twisted Bud in the Bile Waters. Move to the Whispering Vaults of the Citadel. Once you get inside the Bile Waters, break the wall to unveil the secret path. At the top of this area, you can find the Twisted Bud. Make your way back to the NPC (Viajar) in the Armor Forest. This NPC gives you a parasite to make you cursed. Move towards the Bell Beast. Take the bell, climb up the cradle to be able to defeat the Grand Mother Silk.
How to Get Twisted Child Ending
- Start the side quest “Rite of the Pollip”.
- Get all six Pollip Hearts.
- Go back to the Greyroot and talk to him to complete the side quest.
- Move to the Bilewater and get the Twisted Bud.
- Deliver the Twisted Bud to Greyroot (After this, Hornet will become cursed).
- Now, defeat the Grand Mother Silk while cursed.
3. Snared Silk
Act 3 in Hollow Knight Silksong is unlocked by getting the Snared Silk ending. Complete all bounty board quests in every area. Don’t need to complete any side quests in these regions. Rescue multiple Lost Fleas, allowing the Flea Caravan to move to the Putrefied Ducts. Complete the Silk and Soul quest to obtain four items in different locations. Defeat Grand Mother Silk and use Needolin.
How to Get Snared Silk Ending
- Start the “Silk and Soul” side quest.
- Get the Maiden’s Soul from Bone Bottom.
- Acquire the Hermit’s Soul from Bellhart.
- Get the Snare Better and Seeker’s Soul.
- Deliver all the items to the Caretaker in Songclave.
- After defeating The Grand Mother Silk, select the option to use the Needolin by holding the Triangle/Y button. This will trigger the “Snared Silk” ending and take you to Act 3, where you can achieve the other endings.
4. Sister of the Void
Completing The Dark Below and The Old Hearts quests unlocks the Abyss in Act 3. After that, defeating Lost Lace as the final boss. The Grandmother Silk created a giant cocoon to protect the child after falling into the Abyss. Fight with the Lace to free this boss from the void stuck to her. Grandmother Silk provides you with the last of her strength once you defeat her.
How to Get Sister of the Void Ending
- During Act 3, progress through the objectives and defeat Nyleth in Grant Gate to obtain Pollip Heart.
- Go to Sands of Karak and defeat the Crust King Khann to obtain the Encrusted Heart.
- Starting from the Hunter’s March, Defeat Karmeltia to obtain the Hunter’s Heart.
- Go back to Moss Grotto to start the ritual. Reach the end of Red Memory to obtain the Overbloom.
- Finally, go to the Abyss and defeat the Lost Lace to get the “Sister of the Void” ending.
- When you eventually have the boss defeated, you will use the triangle key to use your Needolin instead of binding the boss. This will give you an alternative ending to this challenge.
- You’ll unlock an achievement for doing this, and this will then take you to the credits of the game, just like you normally would have.
5. Passing of the Age
Mister Mushroom is the returning NPC from the previous game. Locate all seven Mister Mushroom locations throughout Pharloom to obtain the ending. Speak with him in every location and defeat the final boss in Abyss in Act 3. Defeating the boss leads to a cutscene in which Mister Mushroom appears. This allows us to gain Sister of the Void and Passing of the Age endings.
How to Get Passing of the Age Ending
- When you reach Act 3, talk to the Fleamaster in the putrified ducts to start the “Ecstasy of the End” side quest. This will make a platform appear in the water.
- Push the platform in the water forward to use it to climb up and grab the side quest “Passing of the Age”.
- Talk to Mister Mushroom in Moss Grotto.
- Speak with the Mister Mushroom in Bone Bottom.
- Talk to Mister Mushroom in Far Fields.
- Speak with the Mister Mushroom in Greymoor.
- Talk to Mister Mushroom in The Slab, Far Fields, and Mount Fay.
- Starting from Choral Chambers, go to the top and talk to Mister Mushroom to complete the side quest.
- Now, defeat the Lost Lace in the Abyss to get the “Passing of the Age” ending.
Make sure to do the endings in a particular order in one save file. First get Weaver Queen, then Twisted Child, do Snared Silk, Sister of the Void, then finish with Passing of the Age.
