There has been continuous shifts to how PlayStation hardware is handled over the course of a few months. Just this past August, Sony Interactive Entertainment finally pushed a higher price tag for PlayStation 5 officially in the United States. Shortly after, a report revealed that the PlayStation firm is to ship a new revision for the console which reduces the console’s internal memory.
Elsewhere in a report from October, it was revealed in a new report that the DualSense is also being changed as well. It was revealed that the accessory in its new ‘V3’ form would be the first gamepad to include the option to remove the battery from the controller. And although many of these changes are to take place in the near future if not already, Sony has touted this current generation to be its most successful ever for the entire platform.
Atop of the recent developments, Sony Interactive Entertainment has pushed out a new update which breathes new life into the PlayStation Portal. This week, a new update arrived which properly enables cloud streaming support that delivers more to the console alongside its initial remote play capabilities when originally released. There are over 1,000 titles confirmed support already.
“Cloud Streaming unlocks new ways to play: enjoy a game side-by-side with a friend who’s using your PS5 under a separate account, or stream your favorite game while someone else watches a movie on the console. Cloud Streaming also makes it easier to enjoy PS5 games on the go – at a hotel, café, friend’s place, or anywhere else with a high-speed internet Wi-Fi connection – since you can keep playing even when your PS5 console back home is powered off or is in use by another account.”
Takuro Fushimi, product management senior manager also shares: “PlayStation Plus Premium members can now stream select digital PS5 games from their own library***. At launch, thousands of PS5 games support Cloud Streaming, including blockbusters such as Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, Grand Theft Auto V, and Resident Evil 4.”
