
After an abundance of years in the background, Silent Hill has returned to the forefront in full force. Already, the series has shipped two major releases as of writing. In 2024, Silent Hill 2 arrived with a proper remake of the series’ most defining release in the entirety of the IP. And, 2025 welcomed Silent Hill f that brings the IP back to form with a new entry set in 1960s Japan.
Additionally, there is also the upcoming release for Return to Silent Hill. Rather than a game, a new featured film that continues from the events of 2006’s Silent Hill from director Christophe Gans is on the way. Gans will also return to direct. There is even a new cryptic ARG experience that fans can engage in to garner excitement for the anticipated sequel.
And while still riding on the hype for Silent Hill, Konami has spoken on what its intents are for the IP moving forward. Speaking to Famitsu, which Dexerto translated, the publisher is preparing the ship the game with an annual release window moving forward. This has already been established with the first two games so far and is promised to carry forward.
“While it remains to be seen how much we can achieve this, I will do my best as the producer of the Silent Hill series. Ideally, we’d like to see excitement for Silent Hill continue to build. We’ll do our best to provide you with new updates, so we kindly ask for your patience a little longer,” producer Motoi Okamoto explained.
In 2025, it was already confirmed that Bloober Team is to piece together a remake for the original Silent Hill; similar to what it dished out already for Silent Hill 2. There is also the previously teased Silent Hill: Townfall that took place back in 2022. Developer No Code has not directly approached any new details since the initial reveal.
