The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has earned $747 million worldwide

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been topping the global box office weekly since its release. It has now grossed $747.5 million at the global box office.

The second Mario movie is on pace to break the $1 billion milestone worldwide, just as its predecessor did. With how successful The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been, there is no question that Nintendo and Illumination are going to have more projects in production soon.

There have already been reports of a Luigi’s Mansion Movie being pitched to star Charlie Day. The instant success for Nintendo at the box office lately has the company looking to do more. A Donkey Kong Movie could also be in the works due to a copyright that was filed in 2025.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie released in theaters on April 1 and will likely remain in theaters for at least a couple more weeks.

In other news, The Legend of Zelda Movie finished filming recently and is still planned to release on May 7, 2027.
