The Expedition 3 duration is extended by the developers due to the arrival of this massive update. We’ve seen a lot of updates previously, but this one brings a whole new bundle of content and a new addition for all the players. Let’s get ready to learn Everything New Coming in Arc Raiders Riven Tides Update.
Riven Tides Update Overview
The Riven Tides Update in Arc Raiders is one of the biggest content drops in the game’s Escalation roadmap. The new content is launched on April 28, 2026. This is not just a small patch, but a major update that adds a full new map, enemies, systems, and a limited-time event. The expansion update is set on the western shoreline of the Rust Belt and introduces several gameplay systems tied to a new map.

Riven Tides Update Breakdown
You queue into Riven Tides like any other raid map and complete the objective to gain useful rewards. You also get a new map condition, a new arc enemy, and a new progression system. Riven Tides changes the gameplay loop due to more exploration, PvE threats, and limited time systems. You drop into a new coastal map, fight players and ARC machines, search shoreline loot via Beachcombing, hunt a boss, and progress event rewards.
Riven Tides (New Map)
The Riven Tides map is a brand-new coastal area added in the April 2026 Arc Raiders update. This region takes place on the western shoreline of the Rust Belt. It mixes abandoned luxury resorts, docks, and industrial port structures. The map features beaches, open shoreline zones, coastal cliffs, docks, and more. The map is built around vertical and open sightline combat, so expect open fights, sniper vantage points, and close-range chaotic zones.

Riven Tides Map
New Arc enemies patrol the skies and coastline areas, making encounters more dangerous. The tighter areas favor close-quarters encounters for both PvE & PvP. But what really defines the map is the central trench. This massive divide splits the resort from a more industrial harbor zone, forcing the players to think about movement, positioning, and exposure.
The harbor brings some different elements, including shipping containers, seafront exposure, and large cranes. This new map is designed to reward players who think in three dimensions, not just moving forward, but also moving upwards. The map also leans into open spaces, which creates a constant trade-off. High-value loot is easier to spot, but so are you.
New Arc Enemy (Arc Turbine)
Riven Tides update brings a new large flying ARC enemy (Arc Turbine). This is a massive, cone-shaped aerial machine that patrols the new coastal map and defends itself. The ARC Turbine floats across the map, but the location is not fixed. This requires you to locate it first before engaging in combat. This new Arc boss is equipped with defensive systems and resists the direct approach.

Arc Turbine
This enemy has area denial attacks and an anti-grapple feature, making it harder to rush it. Make sure to find its flight path or current position and then engage it during a raid window. You can find the Arc Turbine in Azzurro Beach, Resort ruins, the harbor, and open corridors. This isn’t just an enemy, but a dynamic event generator. The turbine defends itself aggressively, deploying mines and launching homing grenades.
New Map Condition (Beachcombing)
Apart from a new Arc enemy and a new map, the Riven Tides also adds a new map condition (Beachcombing). This turns the coastal map into a buried-loot hunting zone, requiring you to search the shoreline for hidden rewards. This means you no longer depend on containers and enemy drops. Dockmaster’s Detector during a raid or unlocked via the Avian Alarm Raider Project. This is basically used to scan sand and shoreline terrain, taking up a weapon slot.

Map Condition Beachcombing
Make sure to navigate along coastal sand zones and wait for the detector to show signals of buried caches. You can find the loot hidden under sand, wreckage, and debris. You may encounter other raiders and Arc enemies while moving in this area. Beachcombing is directly tied to coastal zones of the Riven Tides map, especially Azzurro Beach shoreline, the Dockyard, and Resort coastline outskirts.
You’re no longer holding a weapon while using the detector to scan the sand. The moment you commit to Beachcombing, you are vulnerable to enemy attacks. This map condition isn’t just about the loot, but about the tension. You expose yourself in wide open areas, digging for value, knowing that other raiders can attack you.
New Event (Last Resort)
A limited-time global event introduced with the Riven Tides update, allowing players to earn rewards by playing the game on any map. All XP you earn is automatically converted into Merits, an event progression currency. Your objective is to locate mini Ship Models that spawn across multiple maps. Collecting them during the raid lets you earn extra Merit rewards.

Last Resort Event
The rewards are more if the models are rare. Earning the Merits allows you to unlock a multi-page reward system to gain cosmetics, raider tokens, and charms. Below are some of the rewards you can obtain from the multi-page reward system.
- Junior Outfit
- Hydrologist Backpack
- Hose Attachment charm
- Brass Faucet charm
- 250 Raider Tokens total
The Last Resort runs from April 28 to May 25, 2026, and is tied to the Riven Tides update cycle. The objective is to progress through 3 reward pages and reach maximum Merit milestones before the event ends. This becomes a collection system layered on top of your normal runs. You search containers, find rare ships, and survive long enough to extract.
New Raider Project (Avian Alarm)
The Avian Alarm is a Raider Project that is a multi-stage construction-style project, requiring you to contribute materials to build a bird-based warning system for Speranza. This unlocks a special tool and rewards for completing donation stages. You can find this project found in the Projects tab in your Raider menu and complete 5 tiers of tasks. Your objective is to collect the required materials for each tier. Completing the first tier unlocks the second tier and so on.

Avian Alarm Project
The project involves constructing bird cages and monitoring devices. These cages let you detect ground tremors, changes in atmosphere, and Arc activity signals. Finishing all the stages rewards you with Raider Tokens, backpack attachments, and Dockmaster’s Detector.
Get ready to collect required materials from raids and donate materials through the Projects menu to complete all 5 construction stages. Projects in Arc Raiders are no longer just checklists, but are becoming world-driven objectives. The rewards for completing the project tasks are the following.
- 250 Raider Tokens
- Dockmaster’s Detector
- Gel Patches
- Bird House Backpack Attachment
- Fist in Air Emote
