Resident Evil Movie Teaser Trailer Released, In Theaters September 18

Sony Pictures Entertainment and Columbia Pictures have released the official teaser trailer for Resident Evil, a new live-action movie based on the video game series from Capcom. The film is directed and written by Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian).

Resident Evil is expected to hit theaters on September 18, 2026.

From the mind of visionary filmmaker Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) comes a thrilling — and terrifying — reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise. In an all-new story, Resident Evil follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.

“Resident Evil is of course a franchise that’s got a ton of zombies but it’s also got all sorts of weirder monstrosities. Really wanted to make sure that we never got a handle on what kind of dangers we’d find. It’s not just a zombie movie. The T-Virus can have a lot of different effects and I wanted to make sure we had a variety of adversaries”
