It has been reported by Halo insider, Rebs Gaming, that Halo 2 and Halo 3 Remakes are in active development at Halo Studios.
One of the YouTuber’s sources sent him proof to verify themself and confirm these remakes are “definitely happening”. His source continued to say, “Active development is underway, and they are in early development”.
Rebs Gaming also shares that Brutes will be featured in the prequel missions for Halo: Campaign Evolved, and there will be things from Halo 2 and 3 in the prequel missions because of the other remakes. What’s also rumored about the Brutes are inspired by Halo: Reach concept art and will have the Plasma Rifle and Spiker that were featured in previous games like Halo 3.
Halo Studios allegedly has the following projects in the works:
- Halo Trilogy Remakes
- Multiplayer Project
- Next mainline Halo game
In November, it was reported that the Halo Trilogy would get remakes, but it would not support multiplayer.
As usual, we must take reports like this with a grain of salt. Halo Studios or Xbox has not indicated what projects are in development right now. They have teased in the past that they’ve been working on multiple projects.
This would be the first time that Halo 3 has received any remaster or remake treatment since its release in 2007. On the other hand, Halo 2 received a remaster with Halo 2: Anniversary, which was released in Halo: The Master Chief Collection in 2014.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is planned to be released this year for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Reports suggest it will release in July.
