Today, Nintendo announced the live-action The Legend of Zelda Movie will now releasing a week earlier than planned on April 30, 2027.
Previously, The Legend of Zelda Movie was scheduled to release on May 7, 2027.
Here is the full statement from Miyamoto:
This is Miyamoto. I would like to let you know that the worldwide theatrical release date for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda has been moved up to April 30, 2027, from May 7. The team is working hard to deliver the film to everyone as soon as possible. There’s less than a year to go until release, so thank you for waiting.
In April, Sony confirmed at CinemaCon that filming wrapped on the Zelda film. No other information has been shared, such as new images and a trailer, yet.
The Nintendo cinematic universe is slowly growing. The Super Mario Galaxy movie has been a great success and is on pace to earn $1 Billion at the worldwide box office. Another movie from Illumination is reportedly set to hit theaters in 2028.
