The season is upon the whole gaming ecosystem: Grand Theft Auto VI is preparing to launch later this fall. Back in February, it was reported that marketing is preparing to ramp up later this summer. In a newer update, it was revealed that the marketing for Grand Theft Auto VI will be handled by PlayStation once again with many predicting potential console bundles are to ship as well.
Another reporting on Grand Theft Auto VI indicated that pre-orders are to be going live as well. The only detail that was absent was when; presuming in summer at the very least going off the previously claim. But just this week it was shared via Best Buy that the pre-order window for Grand Theft Auto VI is to officially launch on May 18th next week.
In a new string of events, it is revealed the total estimated spending for Grand Theft Auto VI’s development. On Reddit previously, there was a pretty convincing deduction on where the investment from Take-Two Interactive was projected at just over $2 billion. But in a new report from Business Insider, it is less than that.
According to the outlet, Rockstar Games’ parent company is understood to have spent at least $1 billion – $1.5 billion on the overall development for Grand Theft Auto VI. Business Insider generated the number after Zelnick’s recent comment in an interview stating the budget “was expansive” at the very least. It is easy to assume this after insiders previously indicated that Grand Theft Auto VI was reset internally somewhere in 2018.
As for some of the most expensive titles to ship, PlayStation’s Concord might be update. With the original development for the game easily teetering over $200 million, overall costs for the game in its entirety was reported to cost $400 million by the time the game shuttered its servers.
