The president of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima, came forward today and released a few more details about the Nintendo Switch, undoubtedly due to the drop in Nintendo’s stock since the Switch reveal. In an interview with Bloomberg, Kimishima said of the reveal trailer, “By no means was that everything.”
Kimishima went on to say that there will be more hardware involved than shown in the trailer, stating “It may be appropriate to call them accessories. Or it might be better to call them add-on hardware. It’s probably more correct to call them accessories. You can assume that there will be a wider array.”
Unfortunately, he did not say more on this subject. Fans have made many speculations on what this could mean, from different controller attachments specific to games, much like the Wii had, to backwards compatibility.
One other thing Kimishima did say was that they can’t show the software lineup yet. He stated that they want people to wait and experience the software demonstration in January before showing off their game lineup.
All we can know for certain is that the Switch has generated a lot of interest and speculation, and the mystery only amplifies the hype!
