Some interesting rumors have been going around now regarding Zelda: BoTW and it’s release date. As many of us expected or still expect, the game would launch with the Nintendo Switch. Well, according to Emily Rogers, we may have to wait a bit longer. Let’s keep in mind this is probably the biggest game Nintendo has ever developed and they want it to be perfect.
Emily Rogers reported that localization for the game was becoming more work than anyone had anticipated, they have to localize all of the game’s text, NPCs, quests, etc. and this has been an on going problem and around October she heard it was not going good regarding localization. According to another source on Zelda: “A very ambitious game, maybe even too much”. They say that the localization may not be done until the end of December. After localization is completed, this game will require between (at least) four-to-six months of testing.
There’s a much higher chance of Breath of the Wild being a summer 2017 game, and Emily has heard that the Switch version is running more smoothly compared to the Wii U version. Nintendo promised fans that the game will launch on both consoles and don’t want to disappoint a lot of fans who won’t be able to acquire a Nintendo Switch right away at launch. The final version of the game is a bit harder than what the press and media played at E3, but the difficulty was turned down for E3.
It’s a bit weird to see Nintendo making a game that will be hard, big enough so there is endless exploring, and fun. At this rate I wouldn’t be shocked to see it delayed Nintendo want’s to make it perfect.
