Josh Holmes, Studio Head of Halo 5 at 343 Industries, announced in the latest Halo Community Update on Halo Waypoint that he will be leaving the company to work on independent game development. Holmes worked for years on AAA titles such as Halo 4 and 5, Turok, and Def Jam. After working as the Creative Director for Halo 4 he was promoted to Studio Head during the development of Halo 5: Guardians.
“I have loved every moment here on Halo but I find myself drawn to new horizons. This month I’m leaving 343 Industries and excited for my next adventure to pursue independent game development.”
Lead Producer for Halo 4 and Executive Producer for Halo 5 Chris Lee will be taking Holmes’ place.
