Nintendo Network digital sales on the eShop are higher than ever for a 6 month period

Lately, we have been hearing how well Nintendo is doing with Super Mario Odyssey selling 2 million copies in its first three days and the console already above 7.6 million sales. Now we are hearing that the digital sales on the eShop are higher than ever for a 6 month period.

I would also like to touch on the progress we have made for our download sales. This figure shows the download sales of digital content for dedicated video game platforms compared to past years. Sales through the second quarter were the highest in our history for a six month period. Download sales for Nintendo Switch highly contribute to increase of total download sales.

This shouldn’t be extremely shocking as buying games digitally is becoming more normal and most of the top games we see on the eShop are indie games that you can only get digital like Stardew Valley which had huge success on the Switch.
