Minecon Earth was this weekend and they gave players the option to vote which monster they wanted to be added to the next update.
Up to four choices to vote from for which mob will be making its way into the next update. Mob A, B, C, or D:

  • Mob A – The Monster of the Ocean Depths, an undersea predator that uses its tentacle-like tongue to drown players.
  • Mob B – The Monster of the Night Skies, a flying manta ray that stalks those who’ve lacked in sleep.
  • Mob C – The Hunger, a little four-legged monster that camouflages into the ground and eats what falls in, and even has an appetite for enchantment powers.
  • Mob D – The Hovering Inferno, a master blaze that has shields for defense with the ability to spawn blazes.

Out of the four choices, the manta ray favored the fans to be Minecraft’s next Mob. With this being the first flying mob will be a game changer for how the game will play.

Mojang also announced The Update Aquatic at Minecon Earth. Which will fill the submerged regions of the world with new types of fish, vegetation like coral & kelp and even abandoned shipwrecks to explore. Even adding a trident to defend yourself at close-range or throw at enemies for distance. On top of that, the water physics is expected to be upgraded as well.
Along with the update announcement, Mojang announces that The Super Duper Graphics Pack will be delayed. Originally revealed to be released this fall at Xbox’s E3 conference, will now be pushed to 2018. Following, the cross-play version of Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch will be following the 4K texture pack into 2018 too. Reason for the delay to ensure “the best experience possible” for players when it launches.
