Big questions leading towards Black Ops 4 Blackout Mode, one was how many player will be on the map for the upcoming game mode.
With many rumors floating around since the announcement of Treyarch’s adaptation of Battle Royale, outlet Game Informer has confirmed that there will be up to 80 players on the map for Blackout. Though this was confirmed for the approaching beta, the possibility of seeing the capacity increased to 100 is still on the table for launch.
Speaking with Co-Studio Head Dan Bunting, they plan to have a more comfortable experience for players when the beta arrives, rather than just setting the player count to the assumed number. Continuing on the subject, Bunting followed up stating:
Whenever we launch a game as a beta or whatever, that’s the beginning of something. We’re going to actively be participating in the community and taking feedback, making changes and adapting, evolving the game as feedback rolls in. So there’s a lot that can go on that can happen beyond that first impact of the game going out there.
For the new mode lacking twenty players compared to PUBG and Fortnite, it’s pretty daring for the studio to break from the norm in the genre. Along with the introduction of zombies in Blackout, their translation of Battle Royale will standout more than originally thought.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 12, 2018.
