Rockstar Games has revealed that players will be able to enjoy the approaching Red Dead Redemption 2 not only through their television, but also through other devices via the Companion App for the open world western.

Primarily the companion app along with many of the others that have been created the past few years will give payers additional options to access menus in real-time in the convenience without having to pause. Though many have seemed to do more bad than good, the one for RDR2 seems to be more promising this time around.

Giving the player options such as viewing the world map with pan & zoom features, set waypoints to visit, and with a tap of your finger can mark points of interest when exploring the world of the Wild West. Which will be a helping hand when discovering the massive and in-detailed world Rockstar has planned for us to embark on. As well as accessing Arthur’s journal and stat tracking will be present when using the app.

Other neat features that will be present when the app’s out is being able to control your in-game HUD, choosing your preference for the screen’s layout. Which will be great when needing to unclutter the amount of displays that might occupy the screen.

For those who plan to purchase the digital version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide through Piggyback will be able to access that through the companion app if deciding not to use the game’s digital manual. The RDR2 official companion app will be available for free the same day as the game’s release for both Android and iOS users.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
