With Detective Pikachu, fans thought it couldn’t be any worse with how unsettling the Pokémon look with their live-action interpretations being revealed last year. Not too long after, IGN revealed the first poster for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film which gave fans a similar feeling with the star’s realistic looking fur and appendages.
Now more recently, images of what Sonic could look like in the film has surfaced via ResetEra and it doesn’t help change people’s original opinion of the forthcoming movie.
User AlexFlame116 said to have discovered the images from Hamagami Carroll Associates; creating both the poster for this article’s header along with a guide which holds a handful of featured images that were created for the CGI Blue Blur.

Reading the guide you can see that there are several different Sonics translated into CGI to represent each respected universe; “Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, Film Sonic, Animation Sonic,”. Which you could illustrate future plans Sega might have following the upcoming film or possibly more than we already know about the movie.
Looking at the silhouetted poster, the rendered model looks to be proportionally correct when putting the two next to one another. As of yet, neither Sega nor did Director Jeff Fowler confirmed if these stills are indeed real or not.
From reception on the internet, fans are having trouble understanding that the hands are fur and not his iconic gloves. Same with the fact of the Nike licensed sneakers are not similar to his signature shoes. Other nitpicked features circulate around the model’s eyes and how small they are.
