Typically in May Activision reveals the next game in the series when referring back to previous titles throughout the Call of Duty lifespan.

What really raised some eyebrows from the latest earnings call is the statement that Activision president Robert Kositch made regarding the upcoming title, sharing to:

“Feel incredibly good about this year’s game coming from Infinity Ward [and] think it’s going to be really clear why we’re really excited about the release.”

No further detail revolving around the unannounced Call of Duty title was mentioned following when the announcement is expected to drop. Looking at previous rumors, it seems that the coming title will unlike Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will offer a story campaign over the current Blackout battle royale mode.
