While we are expecting a response from Deej in the next Weekly Update sometime tomorrow, there has been a lot of outcries from the fans regarding what we currently know about the third expansion of Destiny, The Taken King. Before diving in to the pros and cons, let’s break down what is going to be offered in the three editions.

Starting off, the first expansion  “The Taken King: Legendary Edition“, will include the full game of Destiny, the first Expansion: The Dark Below, the second Expansion: House of Wolves, and the content that will be available in The Taken King itself, which will all be available for $59.99.

The second, “The Year One Pack“, will include the downloadable content for The Taken King Expansion for those who have purchased the full game and the first two expansions, Limited Edition Sparrow, and a Year One emblem which will be available at a discounted price for $39.99.

Last but not least, the third package “The Collector’s Edition“, will include the full game of Destiny, The Dark Below expansion, The House of Wolves Expansion, and The Taken King Expansion.  What will also be included in this edition is a Collectors Edition Steel Book Case, a Modified Island style book with an intro letter from Cayde, personalized notes and illustrations from Cayde, relics and artifacts, a Strange Coin replica, and digital contents, which will include 3 class specific emotes, 3 armor shaders, and 3 exotic class items with XP bonuses, which will all be available for $79.99.

With these editions available, many fans of Destiny apparently are not satisfied with what is currently being offered from these three editions.  When putting it to perspective, the decisions on making which editions to buy seems to be apparently the kind of decision the consumer has to make which will result what they can and/or can not have.  For the consumer who wants to show off that he/she has been a Destiny player for a year, they will have to sacrifice on getting the Strange Coin replica, and other in-game content like new dance moves for their guardians, shaders, and exotic class items.  However, they can still acquire that content, but if they do, it will add $79.99 to the $39.99 they have spent to show off that year one shader which will be approximately $120.00 including tax.    How is this going to be sorted out?  Our questions should hopefully be answered by Deej in the next Bungie Weekly Update.

UPDATE:

Bungie  to make the digital content from the Collector’s Edition available in a $20 upgrade bundle.
