The rumors about a smaller version of the Nintendo Switch finally comes to be true. Today, Nintendo announced the ‘Nintendo Switch Lite’ and it will launch on September 20, 2019. The lite switch is priced at $199.99 and comes in multiple different colors being Yellow, Gray, & Turquoise.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is only made for playing in handheld mode and there will be no docking allowed for the console. It’s fair to say that this is going to replace the Nintendo 3DS and move those users to the current generation. The handheld device will not have a kickstand and it will not have HD Rumble.

Owners don’t have to worry about not being able to play with regular Switch owners since playing online on the Lite with games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or Splatoon 2 will connect you to them.

“Adding Nintendo Switch Lite to the lineup gives gamers more color and price point options,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “Now consumers can choose the system that best suits how they like to play their favorite Nintendo Switch games.”

What are your thoughts on this version of the Nintendo Switch?
