The upcoming Halo Infinite has been a title that players are anticipating to see when the game fully launches planned next year: especially with the current status of the Xbox first-party lineup and where the Halo franchise stands right now, many hope the sixth installment to be one that will remind why fans play on the Xbox platform.
And in the meantime while we patiently wait for next year’s Microsoft E3 press conference, one fan has discovered a small Easter egg that was hidden in the demo that was presented back in June. At one frame of the presentation, user @xepyal managed to dissect a QR code from the flashing HUD following Master Chief’s armor suit powering on.
This is how I got it, took multiple screenshots of the red bars and put them all together, then I had to make the QR code pic.twitter.com/Rjitz6W2Sw

When entering the QR code, it will then take you to a link which provides a 40-second audio log which seems to be Cortana speaking to herself. “This.. This is part of me. I don’t know why – I don’t know how, but it is – me.”
Going into spoiler territory for those who did not finish the Legendary ending for Halo 5: Guardians, you have been warned here: once finishing the game on the highest difficulty, the player is soon met with a short glimpse of Installation 04, the halo Master Chief destroyed in Halo: CE, being showered in an aura of blue implying that Cortana takes over the halo ring as the game rolls into the concluding credits.
Deprived from the hidden audio log, it seems that Cortana discovered that there are traces of herself what seemingly is left on Installation 04, but upon that there is no other explanation for how she came to this. This is not the first time 343 Industries used audio logs to distribute additional lore to the franchise as we have witnessed prior with the Hunt the Truth audio campaign that was released prior to the launch of 2015’s fifth Halo installment.
Ultimately, it is enjoyable when the developer goes outside of the game to rings fans together for the next coming title a year ahead before the title actually release.
Halo Infinite will be available on Xbox One and Project Scarlett in Holiday 2020.
