Developer Media Molecule has been busy this past year ever since the official Early Access release for the studio’s upcoming project, Dreams. Essentially the game allows players to create virtually anything with the tools provided ranging from films to games, making the possibilities endless as to what can come from the vision of the users. Unfortunately, the testing phase for Dreams is coming to an end according to the development team themselves.

This week the British developer shared that the Early Access build for Dreams will officially close on December 7, this Saturday. However, in light of the matter media Molecule revealed the Impys: an awards show for some of the best creations that came directly from Dreams. The show will cover awards for Best Visuals, Best Narrative, and Creator of the Year. The Impys will be going live on January 20th next year.

What many would assume be released from the game’s studio as the game is going into the final stage of development following the closure of Early Access is the launch date for Dreams. But its saddening to share that was not disclosed either, neither was a timeframe for when players can expect the title to arrive also.

Adding on to the upsetting news that released this week regarding Media Molecule’s IP, it was also revealed that the title will not be shipping with support for PlayStation VR as well. Speaking with RoadstoVR writer Scott Hayden, Media Molecule Communications manager Abbie Heppe shared that VR integration will not be available at launch.

However, Heppe does add on that the team is looking to add support for the headset in the short future following the game’s scheduled release. Already knowing that the game has yet to reveal a settled release date, it is a good guess we might see it at this coming State of Play presentation next Tuesday. Especially as the game alike Ghost of Tsushima are PlayStation 4 projects that have yet to release so late into the generation, it would be soon that they would release before the inevitable PlayStation 5.

Are you excited for the full release for Dreams?

Dreams is currently listed for PlayStation 4.
