Fans of Team Asano’s initial entry on the Nintendo 3Ds surely has not forgotten the announcement made during the latest Game Awards show back in December. Publisher Square Enix alongside Nintendo revealed that the long-awaited sequel Bravely Default II will be arriving in the coming months for 2020.
Exciting that it may be, fans only tasted a sample of what the full game will be from the announcement trailer a few months back. But now during this morning’s Nintendo Direct Mini, a new trailer emerged sharing the fundamental gameplay elements, cast, and additions that you can expect to find in the full game.
You can watch the trailer in the video below:
Pitted protagonist Seth washes ashore of the coastal city where he meets Gloria, the princess of a fallen kingdom. In his journey, our main character also befriends Elvis and Adele as the two share their ambitions to uncover the secrets of a mysterious book. Forming this new group, the party bands together with a combined mission as they explore the lands ahead of them.
On their journey, they will encounter certain individuals who are in possession of Asterisks known as ‘Asterisk Holders,’ making these foes stronger than the standard enemy. Utilizing the double-sided combat system, players will have to strategically balance between the Brave and Default fight styles. Brave will allow characters to attack more than once to deal a good chunk of damage, but will cost Brave Points to activate the move. While Default holds as defensive mechanism and will assist in players earning more BP when doing so.
At the end of the trailer, it was announced that players eager to get their hands on the game can do so as a demo for Bravely Default II will be dropping on the Nintendo eShop later today.
