Back in April, developer Aspyr spoke with Lucasfilm to discuss the coming re-release of Star Wars Episode I: Racer for Nintendo Switch & PlayStation 4. The game stood as a nostalgic necessity for fans of the original N64 game that segued to the titular film which arrived around the same time. Now, fans are eager to relive their childhoods once again on newer hardware.

But it wasn’t until the middle of last month that the development team spared an unfortunate update revealing the game’s postponement to an undetermined date. Aspyr shared that the decision was made due to the adoption of work-from-home work ethic that was put into place in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. The team explained that more time would be necessary to handle a sturdy release for the returning title.

Now on Twitter this week, Aspyr has return to announce that Star Wars Episode I: Racer will officially be arriving this coming Tuesday, June 23.

Previously when discussing the game with Lucasfilm, Aspyr Producer James Vicari shared that the coming title will reap the benefits of newer console capabilities. Such as the opportunity to imbed a more responsive controller scheme for starters. And exclusively for Nintendo’s system – single Joy-con support would be another addition that Aspyr was able to expand the game for new and returning players.

Are you ecstatic that Star Wars Episode I: Racer is officially arriving next week?

Star Wars Episode I: Racer will ship for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on June 23, 2020.
