With multiplayer playing a major role in current and previous Call of Duty titles, fans held a preference for what modes mattered to them and ranked what was priority over others. Popularly most players picked multiplayer alongside party modes (Zombies & Special Ops) over the game’s story campaign. Now for the latest iteration in the franchise, a specialized bundle for player’s preference has currently been released.
Activision has revealed the Black Ops 4: Battle Edition which will include only the multiplayer and battle royale portions of the recent released first-person shooter. Leaving out the last 1/3rd of the game being the zombies mode: the new edition of the game is marketed with a price tag of $30 and is exclusive to battle.net on PC.
Despite the sudden release of the new bundle of modes, this move was almost anticipated to happen. As the previous Black Ops title received the same treatment for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game only received the multiplayer and zombie modes, and leaving out the 2015 title’s campaign.
The real question left is if other platforms will be seeing the same treatment players on PC have currently. As mentioned already about previous generation platforms getting a cut version of Black Ops 3 for a shorter price, it wouldn’t be too out there to include the more current Xbox One and PlayStation 4 into the mix as well. Or if the possibility of another bundle will be on the way that differs from the recently released one.
