What comes at a surprise for Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is the amount of crossover content for the game: there isn’t any. The most fans witness is charms from EA Play perks for other Electronic Arts-published titles in the past or the BD-1 Pathfinder skin from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. However, despite the game grossing over $2 billion this year, there has yet to be any sign of this title branching to other franchises.

With live-services titles like Call of Duty Warzone, Fortnite, Brawlhalla, and even Smite, Apex Legends questionably has yet to extend its reach to companies for a crossover. Moreover, fans are still awaiting the game to bridge its rosters between the base game and the new mobile release. Recently, Apex Legends Mobile revealed its next unique Legend Rhapsody coming to the game for smart phones.

This week, Respawn Entertainment does reveal familiar animes are making an appearance even though they are not mentioned by name. In that, the new Gaiden Even features similar skins from the likes of Dragon Ball Z, Tokyo Ghoul, One Piece, and Gundam in this new event. More exciting is the next Prestige Skin for Bangalore ‘Apex Commander’ is to be introduced when the event goes live.

“If you collect all 40 event items, you’ll unlock the newest Prestige skin, Bangalore’s “Apex Commander”! Prestige Skins are Mythic cosmetic Legend skins that each have 3 tiers (3 versions total of the Prestige Skin). Upon unlocking tier 1 of a Prestige Skin, a player will be able to complete challenges to unlock Tier 2 and Tier 3 at no additional cost,” the blog post shares.

“Players can continue to complete these challenges, once available, even after the end of the event. Once a Prestige Skin Tier’s challenge is completed a player will unlock that respective tier’s version of the Legend skin which can then be equipped.” The Gaiden Event goes live from July 19th to August 2nd.

More interesting this week is the new information regarding the Apex Legends IP. In one job listing from Respawn Entertainment, the firm is hiring for a candidate to work on a single-player experience for the greater Apex Legends universe. You can read the full report by heading here.
