In a time of uncertainty for a new Left 4 Dead game, developer Turtle Rock Studios delivered on fans’ wishes with Back 4 Blood. Our review reads: “Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor to the the classic that started it all.  […] Tons of replay value and great challenge make Back 4 Blood a fantastic co-op experience that shouldn’t be missed,” writes critic David Rodriguez.

In its post-launch, the team wasted no time to roll out new content. By the time the developer celebrated more than 10 million players enjoying Back 4 Blood, Expansion 1 ‘Tunnels of Terror’ was dated for a April release. Later this past summer, Expansion 2 ‘Children of the Worm’ shipped expanding the storyline for the game.

Now entering December recently, Turtle Rock Studios is back once more with Expansion 3 ‘River of Blood’. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“Work with Tala, a rogue cultist and the newest Cleaner, to find the Children of the Worm and her brother, Derek. Travel up river by boat, explore new and exciting areas, and destroy the cult by any means necessary,” the overview for the new premium add-on reads.

“Along with a ton of exciting exclusive content, the December patch includes several free updates, including the all-new game mode, Trial of the Worm. Melee attachments, new cards, weapons, and skins are also available for base game players.” What are you most excited for ‘River of Blood’ coming to Back 4 Blood?

Back 4 Blood is out now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
