The upcoming FPS Scathe got its first Devlog earlier today. Kwalee’s lead programmer Chris Dawson went over the upcoming release and its bullet hell set up.

For those who are unfamiliar with it, bullet hell is an FPS setup that allows the user to be hit by rounds from an enemy even after they are defeated. You’ll need to constantly be moving in order to avoid fire. In the game, you play as Scathe, Enforcer of the legions of Hell, forged from the earth by the Divine Creator themself. And you, like your fallen kin before you, must prove your worth by navigating a deviously crafted maze, entangled with demonic evil at every twist and turn.

Scathe will feature full cross-play and drop-in drop-out multi-player on launch. Quite simply, this means you’ll be able to jump in and out of co-op games at will, and others in your game. One twist though, all players share the same pool of lives. In other words, when it comes to teammates, one must choose wisely.

Scathe will launch later this year on Xbox Series S/X, PS4/5 and PC. Check out the trailer below.
