While the first Chivalry installment stands to be a genre-defining entry when it shipped in 2012, developer Torn Banner Studios plans to push that margin even further with the coming sequel, Chivalry 2. The title originally surfaced back in 2019 at the E3-oriented PC Gaming Show where the Canadian game studio unveiled the game’s exclusive launch to Epic Games Store. But, the game later pushed its release date beyond the planned 2020 timeframe.

Although the highly-anticipated sequel is still well into development, Torn Banner Games made an exciting announcement this past June – a console release is to be included. Included alongside Xbox and PlayStation owners joining the mix when Chivalry 2 officially drops, the game will also feature cross-platform play between all supported systems.

Now in a new developer diary trailer, Torn Banner Studios finally reemerges to issue that Chivalry 2 will be launching later this June. You can watch the latest trailer in the video below:

The trailer concludes by reiterating on its support for console devices and discloses Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 versions are also to be expected day one as well. Previously, the developer issued that cross-platform buy will also be available between console families. But until the game arrives, Chivalry 2 will be hosting its own closed beta this March.

Torn Banner Studios tells that the closed playtest will be live from March 29 to March 29 on all featured platforms. In addition to that, Chivalry 2 will also feature cross-play when in the closed beta phase at the end of the coming month. Pre-purchasing chivalry 2 grants you instant access to the closed beta as you might expect.

Are you excited Chivalry 2 finally has a release date?

Chivalry 2 arrives to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on June 8, 2021.
