‘Claws Of Awaji’ Story DLC For Assassin’s Creed Shadows Arrives This Week

Although in high demand for an installment set in Feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Shadows shipped with a very large film of controversy over it. Despite many only speaking against the game, Ubisoft accounted for more than 5 million users already playing. Being the best-selling release for March 2025 in the US, Ubisoft went ahead mapping out the first wave of content for the into the following calendar year.

Even upon reviewing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Rectify Gaming scored the title an 8.5/10. “Its blend of action, stealth, and cultural immersion offers a rich and engaging experience that both honors the series’ roots and pushes its boundaries,” we wrote. “Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the series, Shadows provides a captivating journey through the shadows of feudal Japan.”

And with the first major update that rolled out included New Game+ & a higher level cap, the promised DLC for the game arrives on September 16th. At launch, Ubisoft promised story add-on ‘Claws of Awaji’ would be available to those who pre-ordered. Now, it is shipping later this week.

“Access to the Claws of Awaji is contingent upon completion of the main story arcs for both Naoe and Yasuke. Make sure you have finished the quest “Out of the Shadows”, which is available after completing the personal quests for Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Then simply track down Hanzo’s contact at your Hideout in Settsu and you’ll be able to embark on the new journey to the mysterious island of Awaji,” Ubisoft clarifies in the blog post.

Adding: “Owners of the expansion will also find unique new armor and gear pieces throughout the expansion’s story and activities, with new appearances and new powers. Similarly, new skills and weapon abilities for both Naoe and Yasuke are available to all players. However, the various Legendary Bo Staves, each with their own unique engravings, will primarily be available on the island of Awaji by completing the story and clearing castles.”
