The recent update posted on the DayZ blog on what’s to expect for the game for the remainder of 2017 leading into 2018 is a lot. One major is bringing the game to Xbox One.
So first off, update 0.63 will not be coming this month that many were looking forward to adding vaulting mechanics, swimming and others. As the current status on the update “does not represent a full DayZ experience”. Along with this the team plans to add more variety in player characters, diseases, zombies, crafting, animals, increase zombie/player count per server and better animations for smoother gameplay.
Even showing plans for the beta to come in 2018. With upcoming features after the beta’s launch like vehicle modification, planes, motorbikes and barricades. Even mentioning their original plan from 2015 to bring animal companions into the game, but sadly won’t make it in the beta.
With this status report by Bohemia Interactive Lead Designer Eugen Harton shows that there’s plenty more planned for DayZ after the official launch of the game with plenty more updates to be expected.
