While GhostWire: Tokyo was revealed more than two years ago, the anticipation for this new IP from The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks has not ceased. Over time the game studio has went on to spare little details for the game including a fresh gameplay trailer alongside projected release windows for the upcoming title.
Earlier this year it was discovered from the PlayStation Store that GhostWire: Tokyo is slated to ship this coming March. It was in a later reveal from the developer itself that verified the release date atop of including a watchable demo of the game giving more insight to the combat, story, and the world the game is set in.
Ahead of the game’s release, Tango Gameworks is shipping out a visual novel for the game dubbed ‘Prelude’ which elaborates on the story of the game ahead of the events to the start of the title. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
“Enter Ghostwire: Tokyo – Prelude, a free visual novel adventure setting the stage for the events of the main game. This prequel chapter follows veteran detective KK and his team of supernatural investigators as they look into an unusual disappearance, only to stumble upon something even bigger. KK plays a pivotal role in Akito’s journey in Ghostwire: Tokyo, with other faces from the prequel making an appearance in the main game as well.”
Bethesda Associate Content Manager Parker Wilhelm continued, “Over the course of the story, you’ll build relationships with KK’s team and learn their stories. You’ll also discover the truth behind how KK’s spectral abilities along with his history with Hannya, the strange masked figure behind the vanishing.
