Doom Eternal Story Add-on The Ancient Gods, Part One Arrives This October

At the beginning of August, developer id Software offered a brief glimpse for the upcoming Doom Eternal story expansion. Dubbed ‘The Ancient Gods, Part One’, the new experience would reiterate on the base game offering a new realm for the Doom Slayer to rip and tear his way through demonic forces. The team at the time disclosed a closer look will be provided during the Gamescom Opening Night Live show later in the month.

Now, that time has arrived as id Software was present by providing a full trailer for players to feast their eyes on the newest addition to Doom Eternal. You can watch the gameplay trailer in the video below:

“Your war is not over… slaying the Khan Maykr left an imbalance of power that threatens all of creation,” the new overview reads from the video’s description. “With the aid of an old ally, battle your way back to Urdak and decide the fate of the cosmos. Your mission is now your own.”

The biggest challenge from the trailer that can be gathered is the new possession feature enemies can be plagued with. When their form is captured, enemies are glowing with a blue aurora until you kill them. But even after that, the demonic carrier moves to a new proxy unless you properly extinguish the apparition.

Elsewhere recently, Bethesda disclosed that Doom Eternal will be receiving next-gen upgrades free of charge. The update was also told to apply to The Elder Scrolls Online as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
