For 2024, this remained a tame year for the Doom franchise. And that is mostly due for that comes next year. That is with the confirmed release for Doom: The Dark Ages. The third major installment in the reboot trilogy for id Software’s Doom series. More interesting is that despite the previous acquisition by Xbox’s Microsoft, the new release is planned to launch for PlayStation 5 alongside Xbox & PC too.
Moreover, Doom did celebrate its lineage with a new duology earlier this year bundling the classic first Doom & Doom II in one package. Additionally, there is also the Doom Anthology which will offer one major collection that includes all Doom titles released thus far: Doom, Doom II, Doom 64, Doom 3, Doom (2016), and Doom Eternal.
Now with the 31st anniversary for Doom this year, Bethesda Game Studios took it into its own hands to feature elements from the series as part of a new mod creation for Starfield which is available on both PC & Xbox. Similarly, we’ve seen Xbox titles bridge with Doom when a DLC pack released for Call of Duty: Warzone previously.
“A band of mercenaries has narrowly escaped an encounter with something that can only be described as beyond evil. Investigate this mysterious happening and prevent a vile force from invading your universe,” the description reads. “This DOOM inspired mini-quest from the team at Kinggath Creations is presented by Bethesda Game Studios.
Adding: “Also discover 6 new plushies which can be crafted to decorate your Outposts, Homes, and Ships. Crafting of these is unlocked after they are found at the Industrial Workbench and in Decorate Mode. Quest rewards: a new spacesuit based on the Praetor Suit, the Super Shotgun, and the Crucible Blade all from the Doom franchise.”
