Many times when you see a licensed product on board games, it is usually on Monopoly. But Fantasy Flight Games has a different idea: an original DOOM, The Board Game, based on the popular, critically-acclaimed reboot shooter.
There is a lot of information on its webpage, so here’s the bread and butter: You can play as either a UAC Marine saving Mars or as a demon from Hell destroying it; two up to five players can play this.
The UAC Marine pieces (gray) are nearly identical with the exception of its weapons, although that might not make a difference on how they’re played. The demon pieces (beige), on the other hand, are distinguishable from zombies to imps to the Cyberdemon; each of those pieces are of different size, so it does make a difference on how they’re played or even attacked.
The game also has cards as bonuses to help your character complete its mission (either UAC Marine or Demons, depending on your character).
DOOM, The Board Game will be available in the fourth quarter this year for $80.
