It was leaked the other week that Epic Games will be bringing back Fortnite OG in December. It was initially expected that it would be announced at The Game Awards releasing the same day. Today, Epic Games announced that Fortnite OG will arrive on December 6, 2024, and it will be here to stay.

Fortnite OG will start with Chapter 1 Season 1 along with the OG Map, and OG Loot, and the OG Seasons will be rotated throughout the year. Last year, fans spoke loud as Fortnite had its biggest player count ever reaching over 5.5 million concurrent players at the time.

Those who are enjoying the current state of Fortnite will still be able to enjoy it. Fortnite OG will be nostalgic to those who have been with the Battle Royale since day one.

It appears that other developers have noticed this trend, as Blizzard has announced that Overwatch 2 will introduce a limited-time game mode called ‘Overwatch Classic.’ This mode will feature all the original heroes, maps, and gameplay mechanics from May 2016.

What do you think of the “OG” trend making a return to popular games?
