11 bit studios announced yesterday that 11 million players have now played the Frostpunk franchise and revealed Frostpunk 2’s next DLC. The developer also announced that the original Frostpunk will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

“The Frostpunk story began in 2018 with the bestselling original game that introduced players to survival city-building. That experience will soon be revisited in Frostpunk 1886 – a definitive version of the original with substantial new content, detailed further in upcoming developer diaries on Steam. For players who prefer to command their city on the go, the original Frostpunk is also coming to Nintendo Switch.

A release date for Frostpunk on Nintendo Switch has not been announced yet by 11 bit studios.

In other news, Frostpunk is getting a comic book set in the universe, created in partnership with Rocketship Entertainment and brought to life by writer Justin Jordan and illustrator Ryan Benjamin.

Frostpunk is available to play on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
